14) Administrator(s) have the authority to ban users. Banning is something that is not taken lightly and will be done only after substantial discussion among the Administrators and Moderators.
Some reasons a user might be banned include attempts at hacking or destroying the forum; repeated violation of the stated rules; the use of multiple user names; the use of “IP spoofing” software to hid your true IP; repeated offensive and rude behavior (trolling); driving away other members; repeatedly instigating offensive issues; repeated attempts to circumvent moderation; direct public challenges to any Moderator, Administrator or Member; verified verbal or written attacks or threats against any Moderator, Administrator or Member in any public Internet forum; verified verbal or written libel, slander or defamation against any Moderator, Administrator or Member in any public Internet forum.
Banning a member means that he/she can no longer post messages on the this site. Normally, unruly members are given a warning prior to actually being banned, since that is a fairly serious step. Only Administrator(s) can reinstate a banned user.
Banning is accomplished by permanently blocking the individuals e-mail address and in some cases their IP Address. Banning of individuals require a majority consensus of Moderators and/or Administrators.
